Sigma Xi is an international honor society dedicated to the encouragement of research in the pure and applied sciences. Our chapter encourages scientific research and promotes a close scientific community with scientists at the University of Toronto and neighbouring institutions. Chapter activities include conferences, visits to laboratories and scientific sites, and lectures.
The chapter was formed in October, 1983. David Strangway (who was also the University president at the time) was the first chapter president.
A summary of the President's Report for 2011 was presented at our AGM on April 15, 2011 [PDF].
